"Effective corporate reporting and disclosure are critical in financial markets to
promote vigorous competition, optimal performance, and transparency. This book
examines whether existing disclosure frameworks in eight countries with the world’s
most significant securities exchanges achieve these objectives, and then, drawing on
extensive empirical findings, identifies the policies and practices that contribute most to
improving the overall quality of listed company reporting and communication".
"Company Disclosure in Australia is an informative and insightful work. Rather than simply regurgitating the regulatory scheme, the author provides a normative analysis as well as a roadmap for reform where necessary … This book is likely to require updating fairly often to maintain currency; the author acknowledges that corporate disclosure law is a dynamic area subject to frequent change. Notwithstanding that, this work marks an important contribution to corporate law that should interest scholars, practitioners and policymakers alike" - Extract from a review by Andrew Wydmanski LLB (Hons) / BEcon (UQ)

Gill North and Martin North, the principal of consulting firm Digital Finance Analytics, recently completed detailed analysis of Australian households and their use of small amount credit contract loans (commonly referred to as payday loans). The analysis, which was commissioned by the Consumer Action Law Centre, Good Shepherd Microfinance, and Financial Rights Legal Centre, was drawn from a long standing survey of households about their financial positions and attitudes.
